Yesterday we ran our first producer day: Managing macromineral and energy disorders in pregnant and lactating sheep and cattle. We spent the morning educating producers on the disorders we see during this period (grass tetany, milk fever and ketosis) and strategies they could implement to prevent them on farm. We hope they will be able to use this information to develop control strategies as we approach the end of calving season and start of lambing season.
